Hey everyone. This is my first blog. I have just written a book which attempts to describe the beauty of the natural world. I suppose I am looking for some feedback and advice before the proofreading stage. I will upload a different passage every so often. It is called ‘Writing with Stardust’. I would love the opportunity to look at other peoples’s work also if that’s possible. The book has five different levels, from basic to advanced. Level 3 is the one I will be posting. Hopefully, people will find it engaging and interesting. It works to a formula using color, sound, action, the senses etc. Here it is and I hope you like it.
“The dawn light was burning the milky mist away. It coiled like a druid’s, dreamy smoke before its icy fingers disappeared. Soundless, voiceless and soulless, it slowly slid away. It was womb quiet and even the moth flutter had died down. We came upon a gemstone-blue stream .It wound its merry way through the forest. Babbling and burbling, it sprung over the limestone rocks on its way. Pebbles whisked about in the under wash like pieces of glitter. Streams are the liquid soul of the forest, and this one was glowing. Chords of moon light speared down from above, bathing its surface in silver. It was glinting and sparkling, like a thousand diamonds blessed with an inner fire. A galaxy of dragonflies fizzed through the beams of light, wings a-glirr in the magical space between river and air. The hedgerows were pregnant with berries and we picked some. They energized us with their fruity lustre . The delicious taste of the berries tingled our tongues. The soul-swelling beauty of the postcard perfect scene followed us all the way home.”
